Small dandan-mian with very good taste and friendly service and mostly frequented by local workers for lunch. The spiciness level is definitely Japanese, so no1 spiciness is just very little spicy.

Unassuming small shop located in a basement with other small restaurants. Mostly local office workers when I was there for lunch on a weekday. I was looking for miso ramen but the queues were too long. I stumbled on this tantanmen shop near Sapporo station. Wow! Order via ticket machine, give your ticket to the worker and have a seat. I was then asked to confirm my spiciness and numbness level of the dry white sesame tantanmen. It took a few minutes for the food to come out and what a flavor bomb! The food was delicious - noodles a tiny bit softer than what I find ideal but wonderful nonetheless. The noodles soak up the meat sauce and I liked the addition of cashews. I added a soft-boiled egg and that elevated the creaminess of the entire dish. I cleaned my plate and would definitely recommend it to anyone for a quick lunch!
Spicy Extra Spicy and Super Spicy Tan Tan Ramen with rich broth, mince meat, cashew nuts n a milky tamago to set your tongue n palate on fire quite literally. Noodles were el dente and the spice was just right though I would have preferred some fresh chilli . The lone staff was a tall lad who did not speak much English but was very helpful in ensuring that we got our orders in proper. He was truly an asset n friendly too. Noodles came hot n furious and slurped down with a fiery gusto - perfect ending for a cold gusty night out in Sapporo Hokkaido! Delicious tasty with rich umami n spiced flavours of the gravy broth made it a very memorable meal. Return we shall when the craving for a tongue burning n explosive bowl of noodles strikes us again. The food was lovely and so was the lady who worked here She spoke a little with me in English and also in Japanese! The noodles were spicy and you could choose with or without soup and were so tasty
You know i love ramen. Tried the Black Sesame ramen today. With level one "numbness". What does that mean? Let's say the addition is like pepper but not quite. The little reddish pepper really does make your tongue goes numb. Interesting concept. --- Why not 5-star? My kid ordered standard ramen, and it was too salty. And they use ground pork instead of proper roast pork slices.
Delicious Dandan, we tried both white and black sesame.
Loved the noodles! Great texture and bite with a super large portion, the sauce was very flavourful. It is a very cosy restaurant and you can see the staff interacting with their regular and foreign customers. I loved the vibe here and have been back thrice during my stay in Sapporo.
Very unapologetic Dan Dan Mien, my first time really feeling the mala of Sichuan Pepper. My lips are still prickling :D I can recommend the dry black sesame noodles. Will definitely come back once I crave some spice!
